The United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC), in collaboration with Mercury Public Relations, presents an engaging and informative session on the upcoming 2024 U.S. Presidential Elections. This event is designed to equip the Azerbaijani business community with a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. electoral landscape, helping international businesses anticipate potential political changes that may influence the business climate and trade relations between the United States and Azerbaijan.
Our distinguished speakers, former members of both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate, will bring a wealth of knowledge on U.S. domestic and international politics, offering valuable insights into what these elections could mean for global commerce.
SPEAKERS:
DAVID VITTER
David Vitter is a Partner at Mercury in Washington, D.C., and formerly served as a U.S. Senator from Louisiana (2005-2017). He chaired the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and was the lead Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, where he helped pass significant legislation like the Toxic Substances Control Act reform and the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act. Prior to the Senate, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Louisiana’s 1st District.
VIN WEBER
Vin Weber is a Partner at Mercury, bringing extensive experience from his 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Minnesota’s 2nd District (1981-1993). He was a member of the Appropriations Committee and a part of House Republican leadership. Weber is known for his bipartisan influence and has advised multiple presidential campaigns.
TOBY MOFFETT
Toby Moffett, a Partner at Mercury, previously served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives (1975-1983), where he chaired the Subcommittee on Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources. He played a key role in investigations into Clean Air Act violations and nuclear power plant safety. Moffett has also led global government affairs initiatives in both the public and private sectors.
CHERI BUSTOS
Cheri Bustos, Co-Chair of Mercury’s Washington, D.C. office, is a former U.S. Congresswoman who represented Illinois’ 17th District for 10 years (2013-2023). She held leadership roles, including Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Co-Chair of the Steering and Policy Committee. Bustos also served on powerful committees such as Agriculture, Appropriations, and Transportation.
