Roundtable Discussion with ADB

ADB, based in Manila, is dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth, and regional integration. Established in 1966, ADB is celebrating 50 years of development partnership in Asia. In 2016, ADB assistance totaled $31.5 billion, including co-financing of $13.9 billion.

Today, ADB continues to implement the sustainable Development Goals as a multilateral development finance institution, providing loans, technical assistance and grants.

The ADB Country Partnership Strategy, 2014-2018 for Azerbaijan aims to diversify the economy, foster new economic opportunities, promote inclusive growth, including:

• Infrastructure development
• Environmental sustainability
• Private sector and capacity development
• Energy

Notable ADB activity in Azerbaijan:

• 48 projects
• $1.23 billion cumulative disbursements
• $500 million loan to help create jobs, maintain social spending and diversify economy
• $1.2 million towards reform design and fiscal management
