WASHINGTON D.C., STILLWATER, BAKU - The United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) and USAID/Azerbaijan jointly convened the first meeting of the Oklahoma State University (OSU)-Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ASAU) Strategic Partnership Working Group. The group comprised of OSU and ASAU professionals, as well as the representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, USAID/Azerbaijan, and USACC is tasked to work on establishing a dual-degree program between two universities.
On November 6, 2019, within the inaugural Oklahoma-Azerbaijan Agriculture Forum, OSU and ASAU signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Stillwater, which paved the way to establishing a dual-degree program between OSU and ASAU. Now, the OSU-ASAU Strategic Partnership Working Group is developing a new, legally binding document that will replace the November MoU between two universities and will eventually create a legal and financial framework for the program.
The OSU-ASAU dual degree program is being developed within the USAID-USACC partnership document signed in April 2019, in close partnership and coordination with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Food and Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture, Embassy of Azerbaijan to the United States and the U.S. Embassy in Baku.
